Our first old car discovery! It was also on one of our first long trips. I just loved posing on this car and it was right next to the road. How long this has been here nobody knows.
Then a few months later we drove 350 kilometers (217 miles) to have another photoshoot here. Woke up early to get the right sun and all. Got to the position, and the car was gone! I was devastated!
But there was a ruin nearby that we used instead. When life take your car away, use a ruin. 🤣🤣🤣

Vlaminke vlei - Episode 1
This is an old farm house just south of Velddrift. One day exploring up the West Coast we, discovered this place. We have been back once and last year when went back on to discover is was fenced in. 😢 But luckily we've learned that you "can never go back" 😅. So often we've travel back to a nice place to find it either gone or fenced in! But when one ruin closes, another opens up! 😂😂😂

Memory Lane 9.1
So we’ve discovered nature, in all its beauty. And we started exploring with a vengeance. We drove all over the place, looking, searching and yearning for beautiful paces to take photos. It will still be a full year before we go on our first long trip, sleeping away from home. For now we just did day trips.
This was our first trip to a nature reserve. We were all alone and it was also the first time I walked with open breasts the whole day. I burned the girls a nice red color. I also scratched them! 😅🤦♀️We walked all over the reserve, but being our first time, we did not take beer, water, food or sunscreen!
But it was early days and for us and still a learning experience!

Memory Lane 9.2
Every minute we could get away, we explored. We were lucky that we could travel to Cape Town because of a job change. In between house hunting, we used every free minute to explore the beaches. For us it was a new experience to take photos on the beach. And I loved it. I used to walk around picking up shells, getting my feet wet...It was awesome!
These photos was taken on Clifton beach, a famous topless beach in Cape Town. But even here I was scared of being caught. On a topless beach I didn’t even take my top off 😅. I was very shy and didn’t want other people to see my tiny breasts! My husband said I looked like a teacher in these photos with the glasses and hairdo! 😂😂😂 What do you think?

Memory Lane 9.3
Once we moved to Cape Town, we explored every day my husband was off. We dropped the children at school in the morning, and off we went. We spend the morning and early afternoon exploring and made sure we're back at the school to pick them up. On weekends we took them with us, but of course we didn't take photos then.
We even went onto Table Mountain for some photos. It was very busy there, so it was quite a mission to get photos. But even then we got some amazing photos on the mountain. On top of the mountain is the most beautiful Protea flowers I’ve ever seen!

Memory Lane 9.4
My husband’s favourite place in Cape Town was not the beaches 😲. It was actually a mountain reserve🤦♀️! He liked it because it was beautiful on the mountain, it was a very scenic drive and not many people were around. It think it is here we got our love for gravel roads!
We went there so often I actually became “gatvol” (fed up?) of the place. And you know what…now I miss the place. It is also here that my all time favorite photo was taken (photo1). Still today, whenever we talk about the best photo, I will name that one! Nature and the scenery here is just amazing. There are also a few dams here that we loved to visit.
