Last night, my kids were scheduled to spend a night at grandma’s house to make cookies and watch a movie. So, I took advantage of the opportunity to go out on a date with a new guy. It was just drinks to see if we clicked. I wore a red dress but took a light sweater in case it was a little chilly. Rob went along. I always feel safer when he goes with me the first time I see someone. Plus, I can sometimes be a little shy at first and having Rob there helps me feel more at ease. And, since his opinion is important to me, he also gets a feel for any new potential bull.

We got to the restaurant first and sat at the bar. It wasn’t too long before he showed up. My first impression was that he was pretty attractive. He didn’t quite look like his online photo, but I still thought he was handsome. He shook Rob’s hand first, then mine. Then, he kind of awkwardly leaned in to give me a hug. I ordered a margarita and tried to sip it slowly. But, when I’m nervous or shy, I tend to drink a little too quickly. I don’t think it’s really noticeable except to Rob and me, but I wish I took it a little slower.

We talked about all sorts of things. We talked about the lifestyle and experiences, jobs, crypto, some local news, family, and hobbies… He’s about my age, divorced with 3 kids, works construction, and likes football. He was nice, and not too arrogant. He seemed intelligent. And I was attracted to him.

We were there about an hour and a half and then decided to head on home. We all walked out together. He shook Rob’s hand, and gave me another hug, but then kissed me goodbye too. He said he hoped to see me again and he’d message me.

When I got home, he sent me message saying he had a great time and couldn’t wait to get together again. The date went well so I definitely want to see him again too for some play time.
