I apologize for being MIA yesterday. I was working in my mask and started feeling really sick and spent the rest of the night in bed. If I’m in my mask for more than 4-5 hours, I always end up getting sick that night. I’ll be super lethargic, I’ll sleep all evening and all night, I’m cold with chills and will pile on 4 blankets, then I’ll run a mild fever and start sweating. It even makes me nauseous and sometimes I’ll throw up. I feel horrible the whole time. Yesterday it started while we were having dinner at a restaurant with my boyfriend’s grandparents. I could no longer be at the table, the smells were making me want to puke, I was getting cold. So I went to sit in the car for 20 minutes until they were done and I laid down the whole ride home. It was agonizing. I asked my doctor a few months ago and she tried to tell me it wasn’t due to wearing a mask and that it just sounded like anxiety... but that diagnosis didn’t sound right. Yes, sure, a lot of us are battling anxiety and depression, especially since COVID, but it was too coincidental that my symptoms would only appear on days where I’d be wearing a mask for more than 4-hours. I had a client who’s a physician, so I was talking to her about it and she told me it’s because I’m breathing in my own carbon dioxide for all those hours and it’s the equivalent to hyperventilating. She suggested that I wear a face shield during my appointments in place of a mask, as long as my clients are wearing their masks. Have you experienced those types of symptoms while in a mask? If you feel sick from wearing masks all day, make sure you take breaks to get yourself some fresh air. Also, I’ll be catching up on DM’s and requests today and tomorrow. Thanks for your patience babes. I appreciate you. 😘😘
