Oh! Almost forgot...🥰 I do get some questions..."why", mostly. I struggled accepting my masochism when I was younger, but now I revel in it. On a physical, scientific level, it is only how our nerves and receptors interpret sensation--pain and pleasure both drive the same highway. On a personal level, it challenges me physically much like a workout, and genuinely just feels fucking great--scratching is obviously a favorite; a sharp, intense feeling followed by a flood of comforting warmth. On an aesthetic level...well it is its own form of art. The way a moment in time is captured, the colors the body can achieve. It is stunning.
