Business Update (this is a long one): I want to let y’all know how I’m thinking about my business, its growth and sustainability, and the value I offer customers. As I’ve stated on several occasions now, everything about my business—from the focus of its content to the presentation, pricing, and delivery of my videos—is based on things that frustrated me as a consumer. I hope that you can tell that, unlike the majority of OF creators, I was an active, paying porn consumer before the OF era, and since 2018 have subscribed to about 150 OFs. The vast majority of them have been disappointing. Out of those ~150, I would only fully recommend about ~30. The two biggest sources of disappointment: A lack of consistency and outrageous pricing for PPVs (without previews!!!??!!). Regarding the first, it is unconscionable in my view to have someone pay a subscription price and then fail to deliver regularly scheduled content that is of value in its own right. Paying a subscription price for the “privilege” of being advertised to is an utterly maddening experience for me personally. That is why, for now, my business model is a free page with only PPVs and free wall content limited to, essentially, glorified advertisements. When I first started, I did not have confidence that I would be able to consistently produce enough content of value to justify a subscription price. But that is slowly starting to change. In the interest of transparency, I want you to know my goals and how my business might shift in the future. I am committed to running a free page UNTIL I have enough of a content backlog to release a new, full, original video every 10 days (this means not counting BTS, alternate angle, or abridged version videos) for at least six months. Such a backlog would mean that, even if hit with sickness or a life emergency, I wouldn’t make excuses for not upholding my end of the implicit bargain with subscribers. Once that happens, my business model would shift to a cheap subscription price. PPVs would still be the core of my revenue, but would be slightly reduced in price. And my wall content would include even more extensive previews that would be of jerk-off value in their own right. I currently have a backlog that, according to the above defined parameters, would last me for about four months. I have my main content posts scheduled through mid-June. I may or may not reach my 6-month backlog goal. But I just wanted y’all who are here with me in the early stages—it’s only been four months since I launched my OF!—know the direction I want to head in. Let me know what you think.
