You could also just treat someone any other day, it doesn't have to be on valentines day. Or you could treat yourself, self love is important! You don't need a significant other to "celebrate" valentines day. You can show someone else some appreciation! Like your family, coworker or bestfriend! Celebrating isn't easy now in the middle of a pandemic, but i can guarantee there's always someone who would love to hear from you through a phone call or video call. Here's a few things you can do to make someone feel special. 1. First off, don't buy anything you can't afford! But if you're going to buy them a gift then you probably know them well enough so you'd probably come up with something. If not then there's always flowers. If you think flowers is too predictable, you could get them a plant or dried flowers that'll last them forever and they're in right now! 2. Go to spa or make spa at home with massages for the face, scalp, feet, calves, back etc. If you suck at giving massages then you can easily look up some YouTube videos on how to massage. Learning new skills for your partner will make them feel appreciated! Showering or taking a bath together with some scented candles is definitely nice! I'd recommend getting some eucalyptus to hang in shower because candles can be dangerous. 3. Make food. If you can't cook, it's fine, it's the thought that matters. And there's nothing wrong with asking for help. Cooking together is spending time together and maybe you'll both learn some new cooking skills! You could take them out for dinner, go to a cafe, get takeaway, buy them a cake or chocolate for the chocolate lovers! 4. Write a letter, poem or song and sing for them if you dare. Or you could just talk to them and tell them how much you appreciate them. It's a lovely way to bond with someone. 5. You can clean the house for someone or clean together. It's not as boring when you do it together, especially when you got music on. Do the dishes, fold the laundry, organize, etc. You know that thing you or they should be replacing/fixing, but never got to doing it yet? Now is the time! 6. If you're social circle isn't that big then there's plenty of strangers or people in need who would love some of your time. There's so many charities to donate to and you don't need to give alot. The small donations matters alot! Showing appreciation and being willing to help is a form of self care because it makes us feel good about ourselves to do something good and it can boost your confidence! You could go ice skating, picnicking, fishing, jogging or shopping! There's so many ideas! Or just stay inside play video games, watch a movie or serie. Sometimes the simplest is the best. Lastly, don't be afraid of rejection or not getting the response you were looking for. Don't hope for anything or have any expectations! HAPPY VALENTINES DAY ❤️
