Added 2022-03-05 00:50:24 +0000 UTCWing update! So While using the heat gun to laminate the 'bottom' wings, I accidentally melted a hole in one, but it's ok. That part will get wrapped in electrical tape anyway. This is the first time I'm making something like this so it's a learning process. Speaking of learning processes - the wire I got is too flimsy, so now that the wings are finished, the wire isn't strong enough to support the wings. It's ok, I'm going to order some more wire in a different gauge for the next set. Anyway so to the photos - I used the heat tool to 'cut' out the wings after they were fully laminated, and then I brought them back inside to wrap them all together to the base to complete the wings! They look AMAZING! So they will just slip into a corset and once I get sturdier wire they will stand up better. (right now they kind of fall down right away lol) Also, I'm good at lacing myself into a corset, but man, it's hard to lace one onto a mannequin! (so I didn't lace it up very tight, but that's ok - this way you can see how the base just sits in it. On a properly laced corset the back piece will be all but hidden!) Anyway, so I'm learning. And I'm SUPER happy with how set 1 has turned out, even if these particular ones are droopy wings! 😅
