🚙 Day 12 🚙 Due to no internet reception at the camp, our first order of the day was to find a place with Wifi so that we can post at least. We found a place in a small town. There we sat down, had coffee, breakfast and posted for the day. It took much longer than expected, so when we did get on the road again it was late morning already! 😲 We only had one photoshoot the whole day! But as always, it never is easy. The vehicle has developed a “shimmy” or a “whobble” felt on the steering wheel. We suspected it was due to balancing weights being lost on the “ditch episode” a few days ago. A long discussion ensued about whether to continue or had the wheels repaired. We did decide to repair the wheels and diverted to a big town that would have a place to balance the wheels. But for us it is never so easy… When arriving at the Wheel Alignment shop, it was closed! Permanently. Out of business. So we had to search again and on the second try we got lucky. We found a place to balance the wheels. The wheel balancing went well, but then out luck prevailed!!! They couldn’t get the truck to come down back to the ground. The lift was stuck! No matter what they did, they could not get the lift to come back down. We just stood awestruck at the scene of the truck stuck in the air. The question was: “Where were we going to sleep?”. More and more personnel gathered around the lift, each one with his or her’s own idea on how to get the truck back to the ground. With a lot of prodding, showing and kicking they got the lift to come down. We were saved! But by now it was nearly dark and we couldn’t find a place to sleep. The one place we did get a hold of, just refused to let us in. We called them “too late” apparently. So we drove through the dark night fearing of potholes, cattle, sheep, dogs, chicken, goats and geese walking in the road. The roads here are very bad, with potholes as deep as a mineshaft! So because of that, we hate traveling at night. But now we didn’t have a choice. Through the night we drove to the only camp we knew that would be open when we arrive. But we made it safely, pitched camp in record time, had a cup of tea (not even a beer) and went to bed!!! Have a great day everyone! 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
