I know this is not my regular postings. Please be patient. Tomorrow will be back to the regular programming! 🚙 Day 14 🚙 There is not much to report on day 14. We just drove all day, enjoyed the scenery and arrived at our destination in the late afternoon. There we discovered that the coming weekend is a long holiday, so the prices increases from Friday. A search for a cheaper campsite ensued! We did find a cheaper one, but we will have to inspect it first! 🚙 Day 15 🚙 We woke at 3:30am for a drive to the Kruger National Park. I’ve been there before and wanted to go show my husband all the beauty of nature and all the animals there. We entered the gates just after 6:00am…and saw nothing as we drove down the roads. We did see some buck, but they are a dime a dozen. I wanted to see the real animals. The big 5! As the morning dragged on, I was fretting that we’ve wasted a day to see animals that didn’t exist. But our luck changed when we saw our first elephant. The first of many for the day. There are lots and lots of elephants in the park. We eventually just drove past! There were just too many! The highlight of the day was when we came around a corner. A lioness was strolling down the road. Like the road belonged to her! She did look a bit old, but it was still amazing to see a lion! It was the only lion we saw during the day. Like all things that are being enjoyed, the day rushed past. We saw lots of animals. Elephants, hippo’s, all sorts of bucks, bluewildebeest, a buffalo, water turtles, various kind of birds, two small hyena’s lying right next to the road and of course monkeys and baboons. Too quickly the day was over and we were on our way home! Of the big 5 we did see 3 of them eventually. We didn’t see a rhino or a leopard. For the day I was the photographer and not the model! But all in all a great day.
