Good Afternoon and Happy New Year! I hope you had a lovely time last night ringing in 2024 and that you are now enjoying a beautiful day. As for me, it was pretty relaxed, in fact, I didn't even stay up to watch the ball drop - tsk tsk. I know, I'll do better next time around. I'm not sure if you know this, but I've built my model and approach on the concept of the power of individual sales at scale. What I mean by this is that the content stands on its own - it sells itself. In other words, the content doesn't require me to invest precious time in a one-off conversation in the hope of selling one video - which is a very good thing! And while this model still rings true, and will continue to ring true for all the years to come, in 2024, I'm going to make a much more focused effort to make sure that those who truly appreciate the art feel equally appreciated. You see, there is such a vast array of people who frequent this wonderful place. There are from those who have been around for over two years and have not once stepped up to the bar to place an order, to those I know by name who regularly come up week after week, month after month, and even those who I haven't seen in awhile who stop by year after year. And whether you are a quiet, transactional type, or one who likes to randomly drop a tip just because - thank you! I do notice, and I do realize the fact that you didn’t have to pick me. And while some might feel entitled to your wallet, I’d like to think I approach my craft with the hope of earning your support each day. You know, it was funny, as I saw a video, on Twitter, of Drake doing a livestream. I forget the details, but basically, he was raising money, I’m sure, for a great cause. Well, the funny thing was, as he was talking, someone came along and tipped 60 cents, as in $0.60. But it wasn’t the amount that made me laugh, it was the comments from people posting about his reaction, which I thought was super cool, in that he took a pause from what he was doing, and again, this is during the live stream, to say, “hey so and so, thank you for the sixty cents”, and then he went back to what he was doing. Also, Drake didn’t say it in a condescending, or joking way, because, at the end of the day, whether the person who gave the tip sent it as a joke or not, it was much more than the majority of people watching had sent, and the person who sent it, didn’t have to send it - which in my mind, is very cool. So I share all this with you, to again, express my thanks, as there are many, and you know who you are, who have sent way more than $0.60 that will be hearing from me soon. One thing I’ve been toying with, and I don’t have it nearly perfected yet, but is this whole concept of “levels”. And whether you are a Visionary, Philanthropist, Patron, Aficionado, or even a Fan who tipped $.60, please know that I am grateful and that much excitement will blossom in the new year. “I know when that hotline bling That can only mean one thing” And remember to always be the type of person others want to be around… XoXo, KS
