Happy hump day All!! I hope everyone has recovered from the 4th of july 😉! I received some questions from a few of you about how to travel on a budget this summer. I have made a small list of a few "travel hacks" I find helpful when planning a trip on a budget. Hope they work you! 1.) Make sure your "private browser" is turned on in your computer when searching flight an hotel deals. Why? This is because airlines and travel sites are able to record your visits by installing cookies on your browser, which can cause the prices you’re shown to rise because you’ve searched for those flights before. This is to fool you into buying your flights quicker and encourage impulse buying, the sneaky devils! 2.) Wanna save on baggage? Try to fit all your clothing in a free carry on. The best way to do this is to roll your clothes in a cylinder form instead of folding and layering your clothing. Trust me it saves so much more room! 3.) Apply for a revolut card before your trip to save on bank commission fees and ATM fees. Works just like a debit card and is accepted in 150 countries world wide. 4.) Worried about your phone bill? International calling can add up quickly when are you traveling outside of your country. Check first with your phone provider to see if they have a monthly plan for international usage. If not try downloading whats app, viber and skype to communicate world wide with just using wifi. Don't have access to wifi? Buy a sim card in the country you are visiting. 5.) If you are able to, try to book your flights on a Tuesday or come back on Tuesday. Tuesday is almost always the cheapest priced day of the week to travel, due to the low demand for flights on this day. 6.) Search out free or inexpensive activities in the area you are visiting. Such as art galleries, museums and historical cites around the city. Also always ask the locals, I have always found them to be the most informative and helpful with suggestions you may have not been aware of. 7.) Check out your city's street food! It's cheap and cheerful and most likely will give you a better understanding of the countries cultural flavour 😎. Don't just wine an dine get down with street food! 8.) Last but not least, do your research! Read other travel blogs, use trip advisor to read other travellers reviews. Choose a destination that is within your budget so you are not shocked when you arrive there and are able to have a good time with you budget in mind. Try and keep these tips in mind for your next trip 🥰! Ciao - Mila xo
