I’ve lost count on how many times I’ve visited New York City, but when I’m here I always come to my favorite bar - King Cole, located inside the St. Regis Hotel in Manhattan. Bet you didn’t know It’s the birthplace of the famed Bloody Mary cocktail, which is one of my favorite breakfast drinks however I came here for something a little more interesting to look at. The king Cole bar is home to the renowned Maxfield Parrish mural. Swipe left on my pics to see the full mural. This painting was not originally designed for the St Regis. In 1906 owner Jacob Astor asked Quaker artist Maxfield Parrish to paint a mural based on the welsh nursery rhyme (“ole king cole”) for the bar inside the Knickerbocker hotel, which is now renamed the St Regis. So whether your in the mood for a Bloody Mary or want to take a glimpse of this mural come on down between 5th avenue and 55th street to check it out !
