I bet you didn’t know this casino opened in 1863 🤯 making it the 4th oldest casino in the world. The Monte Carlo is also responsible for inspiring numerous books and films such as the first James Bond novel, Casino Royale, the Bond Movies “Never say Never Again” and “Golden Eye” were all filmed here. Something even more interesting to me is that the locals of Monaco whom are referred to as “monègasque” are banned from gambling inside the casino due to moral reasons and the simple fact the princely family did not want the locals to gamble away their money… awww how thoughtful of them 💕! For those of you planning a visit here, I’ll give you some need to know info : 1.) YOU CAN ONLY ENTER WITH A PASSPORT. PERIOD lol They don’t mess around so bring it. 2.) You have to be 18 years or older to enter 3.) Dressed code is strict, so dress appropriately. Ladies cocktail dresses and chic pant suits would be ideal, but keep it classy nothing to reveling. As for the men, no shorts no flip flops ect … something you would wear to a nice dinner or night club is perfect. 4.) lastly… no pictures at the tables! Take it from me, I had my own little fiasco trying to take a selfie while playing black jack, the monègasque people didn’t like it, had a hard time sweet talking my way out of that one but I got some cute pics as you see above 🤭✨. If you plan on visiting the French Riveria make the time to take the 2 hour drive to Monaco or 15 min helicopter ride, totally worth it.
